In a recent article published in the Portland Business Journal, adidas’ stock successes in 2016 trump their sportswear counterparts largely.
Matthew Kish, a well-known journalist covering the inner workings of the footwear and apparel industry, reports through January ’16 and May ’16 detail adidas’ stock has seen monumental growth, gains far greater than Nike and Under Armour.
Adidas stock performed at a rate of +31.54% YTD. Nike, on the other hand, saw a much lower stock performance of -11.43% YTD. Under Armour comes in just below Nike at -6.09% YTD.
The chart below shows the stock performance in greater detail. What it doesn’t show, however, is the financial earnings of each brand. That’s an entirely different story. But adidas can certainly be proud of this win, as it’s one that visualizes just how influential their beckoning partnerships have become alongside emerging new silhouettes.
