Throughout the years, adidas has steadily made the push to more sustainable footwear while also searching for an answer to Nike’s renewable Flyleather. Now, the newest recycled material dubbed the rLEA(recycled leather) Leatherknit makes its way onto the adidas Ultra BOOST High.
The material debuts on top of the upper with textile placed on the liners, cage overlay, and heel clips. An all-black Primeknit upper features stitching patterns resting atop the suede toe caps. Elsewhere, three subtle shoutouts to the OG adidas Ultra BOOST are seen on the tongue, ankle collar, and lateral ankle tag in the same shade of purple as its predecessor. Finishing details include a white Boost midsole and black Continental outsole.
Despite limited information, the adidas Ultra BOOST rLEA Lab High will release later this year at adidas and select retailers for $180. In the meantime, check out the images below and lock into our sneaker release page for updates on upcoming releases. Stay tuned for more at Nice Kicks.
