Yohji Yamamoto’s longtime sub-label, adidas Y-3, takes on one of the three-stripes’ original silhouettes, the Forum High. It’s been a big year for this throwback model, resurfacing for a NBA collab and even for the return of Jeremy Scott. Just last month, adidas Y-3 debuted two new silhouettes, the Ajatu Run and the Qisan Cozy, so it’s interesting to see Yamamoto return to an adidas Original.
Yohji Yamamoto made a name for himself through his minimalist approach and thoughtful craftsmanship. Everything Yamamoto does is done with style and care. For the adidas Y-3 Forum High, Yamamoto offers his classic refined aesthetic. The all-white upper is made with premium leather, but transitions to a soft fabric just around the ankle lining. For added detail, a statement zipper wraps around the sneaker and replaces the traditional shoelace strap at the top. As you take a closer look, you’ll notice that the zipper element offers intricate design and reworks the sneaker to have a loop-and-hook closure, held back by a faux-velcro strap.
The adidas Y-3 Forum High “Undyed” is already available in the U.K. and a global release is expected shortly. As always, you’ll be able to purchase the sneakers from adidas.com and select retailers. The price is set at $330. Be sure to check back with our Sneaker Release Dates page for more info and updates on the drop.
