Initially introduced in 1994, the Nike Air Force 1 Mid was a polarizing sneaker created to bridge the gap between the low top Air Force 1 and the uber-high top AF1 high. The shoe has long been a love/hate sneaker, but in 1997, this Air Force 1 turned many heads regardless of what they thought of the mid-top cut.??
The shoe’s predominantly white upper had a never before seen toebox and toe cap in the same color. ?The shoes stood out even more with the front being a vibrant red reptile skin. If this shoe looks somewhat familiar, there is a good reason for it. Though no one from the Nike camp has officially confirmed it, it would be pretty safe to assume that it was this shoe that inspired a pair of White/Red Air Force 1 Mids that released earlier this year with a red elephant print toebox and toe cap. |
