Additional Hybrid Adaptations From Nike

Since the sample stages of the original Air Jordan 1.5, Nike hasn’t been shy when incorporating specific adaptations and hybrids of particular models. The two notable silhouettes featured are the Jordan Melo 1.5 and the Nike Kobe 4 Hyperdunk Hybrid. For starters, the Jordan Melo 1.5 was created during the early-2000s and featured a blend between the Air Jordan 1 and Air Jordan 2. A different approach more married to design and nostalgia, with this being Melo’s first signature silhouette with the Jordan Brand, this model would don a variety of distinct hues while fusing a innovative upper and Nike Air cushioning throughout the outsole while releasing at retail and later retroed.

Lastly, the Nike Kobe 4/Hyperdunk hybrid was spotted on the feet of Mr. Bryant during the 2009 campaign as the Lakers were just on the cusp of their back-to-back titles during the late 2000s. Utilizing the OG Nike Hyperdunk upper, this hybrid employed the Nike Kobe IV outsole while fusing together Laker aesthetics of purple and gold. This transition pair was never released.
