While Peter Moore technically designed the Air Jordan 1 some 35 years ago, it’s CEO Jordan that approves everything that goes out the door.

Still, the man at the brand of his own namesake and an owner out in Charlotte, his two biggest business ventures collide in philanthropic fashion on a fundraising release crafted by Mike himself.

Made by Mike for his city, we’ll let the Hornets tell it.

“In celebration of NBA All-Star 2019, which took place in Charlotte in February, Hornets Chairman Michael Jordan designed this limited edition Air Jordan 1 Retro OG. The shoe features nods to the city of Charlotte and both NBA All-Star Games held there 1991 and 2019. Only 300 pairs of this exclusive shoe were created, and this is your opportunity to get one for your collection. All proceeds will benefit the Charlotte Hornets Foundation and its mission of strengthening the Charlotte region through intentional partnerships, charitable giving and social projects in the areas of Education, Wellness, Hunger and Military Care. Bidding ends on Thursday, May 23, at 5 p.m. ET, so don’t miss your chance!”

So there you have it, only 300 pairs made, designed by Mike and being auctioned off to help his hometown community in Charlotte.
