Tried and true, the Air Jordan 1 remains among the most desired sneakers of all time. From a modern lens, Nike’s React Element 87 is garnering similar attention in the contemporary landscape. So pairing the two would make sense, right?
Jordan Brand designer Frank Cooke recently previewed something along those lines — an Air Jordan 1 Flyknit tightly encased in a React Element 87 shell. The translucent nature of the Element 87 is noted first, while upon further inspection you’ll notice traditional Swoosh branding is removed from the 1985 design in lieu of a budding toggle system.
Cooke, known for revealing new samples and concepts that may or may not release, didn’t offer any details regarding the inception of this design or its future at retail. Stay tuned for more details.
