When the Air Jordan 1 originally released back in 1985, the shoe was not only a shining achievement sartorially, but a monument for the best materials and technologies of its time. Jordan Brand continues down that path by joining the Air Jordan 1 with their crowning development in 2012 – Nike Flyknit.
Jordan Brand today officially reveals the Air Jordan 1 Flyknit, a contemporary take on Michael Jordan’s debut silhouette. The shoe honors its new material update and its past by utilizing Flyknit throughout much of the upper and premium leather at the Swoosh, Wings logo, Nike Air branding at the tongue and insole.
A graphic stating “19852017” is seen at the inner collar, bridging the gap between the shoe’s inception and modern-day rendering. Lastly, and of great importance, a Zoom Air unit has been added to the heel for cushioning and stability.
Take a detailed look at the Air Jordan 1 Flyknit and expect the release on September 9 at select retailers and Nike.com.
