Farewell to A Legend
After the 1992-93 NBA Season, Michael Jordan had further solidified himself as arguably the greatest player to ever play the game. Cementing his third straight title after a convincing victory over the Phoenix Suns, 4 games to 2, there wasn’t much left for Michael to achieve within the NBA. For starters, he had already accumulated numerous MVP awards, a Defensive Player of The Year, as well as an abundance of All-NBA First Team honors. So, what was next?
With his desire to play diminishing and the lack of “challenge” within his field, Michael decided to step away from the game of basketball on October 6, 1993. However, many would assert the tragic and untimely death of his father being the lynch-pin in his sudden hiatus from basketball.
