The holiday Air Jordan 11 release has become a staple in the sneaker community, one that Jordan Brand enthusiasts look forward to each season. Last year, though, the Air Jordan 11 “72-10” took the cake. Turning a great story into an even better shoe, Nike brand president Trevor Edwards recently confirmed it was the biggest launch even on Nike.com.

“The ’72-10′ colorway of the Air Jordan 11 was the largest launch ever in the history of NIKE.com, breaking sales and traffic records,” remarked Edwards on a Q3 2016 earnings call yesterday. “With this launch, we doubled NIKE.com’s previous largest launch ever.”

Although the exact amount of pairs weren’t specified, we do know that retailers sold over 1 million pairs of the shoe. With that figure, you can kind of imagine how many total pairs were sold. But maybe more important, despite what many assume, Nike and Jordan Brand are still far out in front in terms of consistent, and increasing sales.
