Returning for the first time since 2004, the Air Jordan 13 “Wheat” is set to release for Jordan Brand‘s Holiday 2023 collection. This sneaker separates itself from other Retros released in recent years being that this extremely rare colorway was released only once, nearly two decades ago, and was the first ever Air Jordan 13 Retro.
The famed silhouette was designed by Tinker Hatfield and introduced the ankle hologram inspired by the eyes of a panther. The signature midsole unit also takes on animalistic inspiration as it was modeled after the shape of a panther’s paw.
In 2004, when Timbs were at the peak of their popularity, it made sense for Jordan Brand to interpolate their own iteration of streetwear’s must-have footwear at the time. You can see the boot’s influence on the base layer of this Air Jordan 13, which incorporates a 6″ Boot-like suede in “Wheat.”
Elsewhere, Jordan Brand delivers its classic refined two-tone method with smooth White leather at the toe and tumbled leather overlays with dimpled detailing. The sneaker sits atop a White Zoom Air midsole unit with a herringbone underfoot. Other notable details include a “Wheat” Jumpman on the tongue and a Jade-like panther’s eye.
The Air Jordan 13 “Wheat” returns for $200 on November 21, so be sure to keep it locked on our Jordan Release Dates page for updates. More details should be available soon, follow @NiceKicks on Instagram to be the first to know.
