It is only right for the majority of us to get excited upon hearing the news of the Air Jordan 6 Retro Black/Red returning at the top of 2010. However, although next year seems like it will begin in the right direction, there are a few timeless releases that have our attention totally focused on the rest of the year.
Last month, we informed you of the Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” and the Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game” both dropping this November. Now, Jordan Brand will add this Air Jordan 6 Retro Doernbecher Freestyle to the month of Thanksgiving releases. Specifically, this sneaker will release on November 14th, 2009 as announced last night on OSD by Pete from Premium Laces. It obviously features a mostly blue suede with multiple gold and red accents throughout the upper and a translucent sole; however, other special inspirations place this shoe in a class of its own…literally. For example, the shoe itself was created by a kid that graduated from his class at the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital named Jordan (go figure). The 06/08 imprinted on the side panel represents when he finished his treatment. In addition, the enlarged number 1 on the heel panel stands for him finishing at the top of his class. Last but not least, the inside of the left tongue reads, “What Time Is It?”, while the inside of the right tongue says, “Game Time!”. How does this release stack up against the others of 2009?
