Leaks from an internal Nike document reviewed by Complex, show that the Air Max 1 has big plans for 2022. This was first made apparent when it was announced that Nike is re-releasing the Nike Air Max 1 Crepe “Hemp,” which situated itself in sneaker history back in 2004. This iconic colorway has remained a fan-favorite over the years and the news of its return definitely got the sneaker community buzzing. But don’t get too excited just yet because there’s a lot more where that came from.

The document also revealed a fleet of other Air Max 1 releases lined up for 2022. One of the most interesting pairs is what seems to be a denim pair. Deemed as “premium” by Nike, this pair is expected to cost an additional $20 compared to the other models, and will release in September. Nike’s safari print returns in a big way as well, as it’s used on the extended mudguard on one of the colorways. This sneaker has a lot of potential as the light blue Swoosh and earthy color palette make for a cohesive mix. Minus the safari print, the color-blocking on this pair fits in with two additional Air Maxes that come in a trifecta of shades. One pair opts for a skunk-ish colorway, while the other has shades of pink, green, and blue. The women’s-exclusive pair on the lineup simplifies itself with a classic two-tone makeup, but stands out in bright yellow. The last pair has a muted base with small Air Max charms, looking as though it’s reserved for Air Max Day on March 26. Considering that’s just around the corner, we should be seeing official photos of this pair very soon.
