First seen at Paris Fashion Week, footwear brand ALES GREY is debuting their luxury basketball shoe that’s handcrafted in Europe.

Featuring Italian leather, an exclusive Italian Margom sole and a Swarovski crystal logo, both the shoes and the brand are the vision of industry vet “Sneaker Steve” Patiño.

“The design of the shoe came from my childhood,” reflects Patiño. “Specifically from the 1980s which is one of the most incredible eras in basketball history. We named it the ‘Battalion’ after the rec center that I grew up playing basketball in Rego Park in Queens NY.”

While luxury is at the origin of the brand’s construction, philanthropy is at the heart. For each shoe sold, ALES GREY will give back to the Inner-City Arts organization in Los Angeles.

“My goal with this collection was to create ‘luxury with a purpose, and my purpose in life is to give back and help others through my love of sneakers,” says Patiño. “There is no shortage of quality with our shoes, and the investment in terms of the quality of materials and craftsmanship is unprecedented.”

Starting at $550, pre-sale is available now exclusively at Barneys.com and Alesgrey.com.
