Puma has once again teamed up with the legendary design team over at Alexander McQueen to create the Joustesse Mid Wedge sneaker. True to the late McQueen’s Savile Row beginnings, bespoke-type detailing makes this sneaker second to none. The camel version features a supple nubuck upper with smooth leather branding hits along the eyelet strip, tongue and side of the shoe. One of the main design features is a cushioned double tongue that is leather lined on the inside and features python leather on the outside. Python is also used as an accent along the heel strip. The padded heel collar is a micro-perf suede with a shiny underlay that provides an almost metallic sheen effect. The strap that crosses the top of the sneaker is made of the same smooth leather featured as accents throughout the shoe. To finish the shoe off, a clasp made of an oiled bronze provides an appropriate industrial element to the shoe.
The black version also features a nubuck upper with waxed leather branding accents along the eyelet strip, tongue and side of the shoe. The double tongue utilizes a crocodile treatment to the dark tan leather to offer some dimension to the design. The same treatment is used as an accent along the heel strip. Micro-leopard printed nubuck wraps around the padded heel collar and the same oiled bronze clasp as we found on the camel version, finishes off the black color way as well.
