Flashback Photo // Allen Iverson Wears Original Air Jordan 1 in 1985

In a very, very rare flashback Friday moment, the one and only Allen Iverson just shared a photo that made every sneakerhead’s week.

In a grainy yet nostalgic image of Bubba Chuck during his middle school reign, is seen wearing an OG Air Jordan 1 from 1985. Iverson has on a pair of original “Royals” while his teammate in the back of the photo has on a fresh pair of “Banned” 1s.

Iverson also made reference to his white knees pads, something he wore as an apparent ode to Patrick Ewing at Georgetown University where Iverson would famously play under John Thompson. He also made mention of his knee-high PUMA socks.

As a Hoya, Iverson laced up the Air Jordan 11 “Concord” which, alongside other factors, made the shoe the icon it is today. This Flashback Friday photo of AI in an OG Air Jordan 1 only adds to the lore of the classic from ’85.
