Spike Lee’s buzzworthy new film Chiraq was widely discussed yesterday as its first trailer was officially revealed. Many of the directorial attributes noted in the new trailer link back to Lee’s glory days, and pictures like Do The Right Thing.

A film that’s just as digestible and socially conscious today as it was two and a half decades ago, is still influencing both cinema and sneaker culture. Where kicks are concerned, the Air Jordan 2 “Radio Raheem” is (currently) the foremost. Named after the beloved character from the film, the shoe looks to be a part of a much wider Do The Right Thing push in 2016 entitled the “Brooklyn 80” collection.

At this point, the only connection to the character and this Air Jordan 2 is the colorway, which mimics the “Bed Stuy Do or Die” t-shirt Raheem wore in the film. With a Jordan Release Date of January 9, 2016, keep it locked to Nice Kicks for more on this forthcoming release.
