It’s the 40th anniversary of the Nike Air Force 1. First released in 1982 and consistently seen throughout the years, the AF1 continues to be a staple in pop culture and the sneaker ecosystem.

atmos, the renowned global retailer, is celebrating the AF1 with a commemorative book. Sneaker Heritage by SHOES MASTER is a joint book project by Hommyo Hidefumi and Hirofumi ‘Koji’ Kojima of atmos and sneaker magazine “SHOES MASTER.”

The book presents 40 models that are particularly worthy of being called masterpieces, significant releases from the last 40 years, and releases born from the CO.JP Japanese project.

In addition to introducing successive AF1s selected from various perspectives such as samples and not-for-sale items, interviews with AF1 enthusiasts such as Hiroshi Fujiwara, and the history of AF1 spelled out by writer Masayuki Ozawa.

The book features all-color imagery, is 216 pages, and was edited by a Japanese-English bilingual editor.

Take a detailed look at the book below, and be sure to head over to atmos.com and atmos in Washington, D.C., New York, and Philadelphia to secure a copy.
