We can’t say we saw this collaboration coming, but the BAIT x Columbia Sportswear Performance Fishing Collection hits hook, line, and sinker. BAIT finds itself at the end of the rod as it lures Columbia Sportswear in to create a range of fishing apparel and even a collaborative Columbia Arque sneaker.

Salmon-toned sneakers are always prevalent and the BAIT x Columbia Arque gives meaning to the popular color choice. The fishing-inspired sneaker looks to the Salmon itself for design notes. The upper is made with Salmon suede and is complemented by gradient Salmon scales on the neoprene base. The semi-translucent midsole has a speckled exterior that pairs with the fish-line inspired laces. In a performance aspect, the shoe features a lightweight abrasion resistant polyurethane rubber outsole and Techlite+ technology to deliver stability in a variety of conditions.

Columbia opened up the archives for BAIT as they redesigned Columbia Performance Gear Fishing (PFG). The entire collection was made with durability in mind as each piece of PFG is built tough, completely water resistant and functional. You’ll find salmon and olive tones on items such as a vest, fishing anorak zips up, fishing pants, tees, and more. The collection also offers key fishing tools such as a tacklebox, dry bag, bandanas and a fishing booney hat.

The BAIT x Columbia Sportswear Performance Fishing Collection featuring the Columbia Arque is available now via BAITme.com and all BAIT US stores. The retail price is set at $140. A release date for BAIT Japan and BAIT Taiwan stores is still in the works. For more sneaker news and drops dates, follow @NiceKicks on Instagram.
