Although K-Swiss is far removed from a stranglehold on kicks enthusiasts, you’d be remiss to lack respect for a company with 50 years of history. In sneaker culture, where consumers are as fickle as ever before, remaining relevant is more tricky than ever. K-Swiss navigates those waters well today with an excitable BAPE collaboration.
Joining with AAPE by A Bathing Ape, the foundational footwear brand offers up their Classic 66 silhouette for a bold camouflage re-imagining. The union works well, as BAPE woodland camo oozes over the low-cut style while five leather panels in white overlay the militaristic base acting as a proper contrast. APE branding appears at the tongue of the tennis centric shoe also in white, joined by AAPE logo branding at the heel.
Will this new collaboration with BAPE subsidiary AAPE breathe new life into K-Swiss? Take a look at the collaborative release below and expect the drop on December 15 for a retail price of $140. Shops like atmos, West and Urban Outfitters throughout NYC will stock the shoe along with Wish ATL, DTLR Baltimore and Villa in Philadelphia. END holds court for the release in the U.K.
