Founded by our Editor-In-Chief George Kiel III, the Kick & Roll Classic Event is the biggest sneaker-themed basketball event in the USA. In support of the Kiel Colon Cancer Foundation and started by George after his mother became a victim of the disease, the Kick & Roll Classic has become an annual event in Austin, Texas where hoopers and sneakerheads can get together for a good cause while displaying their best skills and sneakers on the hardwood.
As an extension of the Classic, Kiel also has an ongoing, sneaker-themed Kick & Roll Open Gym tour (free to the public and participants) that travels to various cities throughout the nation. The first stop of 2016 took place in Austin, Texas at the University of Texas during SXSW.
From mismatched OVO Air Jordans to Nike Air Zoom Generations, check out a few of the best sneakers spotted at the Open Gym in addition to a video recap here, and hit up the Kiel Colon Cancer site for more information on the amazing cause.
