Boston College has just agreed to their largest footwear and apparel deal ever with New Balance. The Boston-based firm will be supplying 30/31 of BC’s varsity sports (with the exception being varsity football), along with granting internship programs to various student athletes for the next 10 years.

Thus far, New Balance has partnered with two other universities: the University of Maine and the University Denver. This third partnership represents another stride taken by the global sportswear brand in efforts to expand their footprint.

More exciting, this deal will be revolutionary for New Balance’s growing basketball practice. There will be a strategic focus surrounding Boston College’s Men’s and Women’s basketball teams focused on improving their on-court and off the court product designs and performance.

Additionally, various Boston College varsity teams will have access to the new state of the art TRACK@New Balance. The new sports complex will have a 200-meter hydraulic banked track, with ample room for spectators and other facilities for training.

“This partnership will be an absolute game-changer for Boston College athletics and our student-athletes. This is not just a historic deal in terms of the financial value and amount of apparel for our department. The opportunities for our student-athletes to assist in product design and development of the footwear and apparel they will actually wear and compete in will be transformational.”
