Special projects continue to fortify Jordan Brand’s modern-day legacy. There are plenty to speak of; some of which never release to the general public. And that’s ok. The rarer these contemporary relics the greater their importance and subsequent value rises.

Jordan recently teamed up with the Brooklyn Nets to pay tribute to the ultimate Brooklyn native, Christopher Wallace — more affectionately known as Biggie Smalls.

With a limited edition Air Jordan 1 that’s rumored to have only been produced in numbers of five, this pair comes in a sleek black upper with a whimsical color contrast meant to ode Biggie’s adoration for Coogi sweaters. “B.I.G.” and “1972” mark the heel of each shoe to honor Big’s birth year.

The shoe is said to have been done to coincide with the Nets’ City Edition Swoosh uniforms which feature a vibrant trim similar to the expressive elements in those aforementioned Coogi sweaters B.I.G. so often wore.

There are currently no release details for this “B.I.G.” Air Jordan 1. To greater effect, there may never be. But we’ll update if that changes.
