The WNBA playoffs are here and Caitlin Clark made her post-season debut with her all-new Nike Kobe 5 Protro PE.

In her first WNBA playoff game, the recently crowned WNBA Rookie of the Year took the stage with a Kobe 5 Player Exclusive (PE). The “Indiana Fever” Nike Kobe 5 Protro PE arrives in a predominantly navy look with the upper, midsole, and outsole in the blue hue. A fluorescent hyper-pink adorns the gradient tongue, laces, and heel branding. The gradient treatment arrives on the minimal outline Swoosh.

The latest Kobe 6 follows a series of PEs debuted by Clark following the debut of her “Black/Green” Nike Kobe 6 Protro, the “WNBA All-Star” Nike Kobe 6 Protro, and her other Fever-themed Nike Kobe 5 Protro colorway.

Originally released in 2009, the Kobe 5 was embraced for its lightweight, low-top design, which continued the momentum of the Kobe 4 in defying the traditional belief that high-tops were essential for ankle support on the court. Kobe Bryant, known for his relentless pursuit of innovation and performance, wanted a shoe that mirrored the feel and agility of a soccer cleat.

Nike’s Flywire technology and Zoom Air cushioning provided a balance of support and comfort, making it a favorite among athletes.

Over a decade later, its legacy continues as Clark and other ballers spin the Kobe 5 in their manner.

Like Clark’s other PEs, we don’t anticipate a retail release anytime soon.
