Prior to taking the game against the Minnesota Vikings, Cam Newton took the field for warm-ups in a special “Purple Rain” rendition of his signature Under Armour cleats – the Under Armour C1N. The cleats came dressed in an all purple makeup with a gold and white paisley repeating print across the upper to pay tribute to Prince who was a native of the state of Minnesota.
The warm up cleats weren’t quite enough for the win today against the Vikings as the Panthers fell 22-10, but the tribute was a great gesture by Cam Newton and Under Armour. Check out more photos of the cleats and Cam wearing them below.
