With the Nike Air Max 90 currently celebrating its 25th Anniversary, artist PELNYC decided to show the iconic silhouette some love with a series of tribute illustrations. Dubbed the “We Were There” series, PELNYC teamed up with the Whitaker Group to provide the iconic Tinker Hatfield-designed runner with some reimagined digital looks. Creating 25 individual pieces of artwork using the previously mentioned silhouette as the base, PELNYC combines the silhouette with some of the most relevant cultural highlights and events from over the last 25 years.
