At the beginning of the 1997 season, Penny Hardaway suffered a knee injury that would hold him out until the All-Star break. Penny infamously rushed his rehab, just to be able to play in the 1998 NBA All-Star Game that the fans voted him into, and would only last one week after returning. Despite his controversial lack of patience, Hardaway made a full recovery for the 1998-99 season where he led the Orlando Magic to the best regular season record in his last signature sneaker, the Nike Air Penny IV.
