Japanese fashion designer, Rei Kawakubo, and her label, COMME des GARÇONS, continue its long-tenured partnership with Nike as seen through their spring/summer 2019 Paris Fashion Week presentation.
Harkening back to 2002 and the Nike Presto Foot Tent, CDG’s latest collaboration with Nike is a Presto of a new variety. A complete overhaul from the shoe in its original form, a shroud like structure encases the upper while also featuring a woven center. The shoe’s original sock-like aesthetic remains intact through a varied form, while a slightly visible cord beneath the midfoot seems to be holding things in place.
There’s no word on if this COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Presto will release as it’s seen here during the spring/summer 2019 season.
Update 1/8: After making its debut last June on the runway, COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Air Presto Foot Tent will release in Hong Kong on January 12 in red and light blue color variations. It’s unclear at this time if and when the shoe will release in the States.
