“I don’t even think I knew it at the time, but this is definitely the shoe that in my mind now started it all. It wasn’t my first sneaker purchase, and it is not my favorite shoe now, but I was at a sneaker boutique store at the time and it was the first shoe I bought purely because of the look. This was the first time I looked at a shoe like a canvas, instead of only as equipment. I even knew at the time I was buying it I would probably not wear it. That to me has to be the one that started it all. Once I had these, the doors were open to buying sneakers for more than just a practical reason. Style, color and design all became factors.”
