Community Collections goes down south to the Lone Star State to feature a sneaker enthusiast who is all about quality. Dezryck Randolph resides in our home base of Austin, and actually got deep into sneakers after randomly stumbling upon the site in 2007. Originally hooked by the Reebok Pumps that Tupac laced in the movie “Juice”, his style is still inspired by the trends from the late ’80s and early ’90s, down to his haircut. Seven years later, Dez is fully engulfed in the culture and stockpiling only the best sneakers. Taking the quality over quantity approach, his stock includes a little bit of everything from Reebok and adidas Basketball retros, to the latest Swoosh silhouettes.
Browse your way through the pages to see Dez’s full collection and some of his top selections with personal commentary, including his Oldest Pair and Personal Favorite. Collection Summary:
“Growing up with divorced parents can sometimes come with perks. My Father would always have me laced in fresh kicks, and my Mom’s job was to buy the outfits. My shoe preferences therefore came with my father’s interests, because if he was getting them for himself, I’d have them too; until my feet got to a men’s size, ha! I didn’t get serious into sneakers until around 2007. I think that was my 7th or 8th grade year, and I stumbled upon the Nice Kicks website in my Spanish class. Thanks to Matt and the site, that year my father got me the Air Jordan Retro 1 “Old Love, New Love” Pack, “Aqua” 8s and the “Playoff” 8s. Ever since then, Nice Kicks has been my go-to sneaker source for coverage and releases. My collection started off as mainly retro releases, a few Forces here and there, but since then it’s grown with all the buying, selling and trade market. I cop general releases and limited releases, just whatever I like.”
