Community Collections kicks off June with a collegiate track and cross country runner with an impressive array of sneakers. Jacob McIntyre is a student athlete at the University of Southern Indiana, running over 85 miles a week in his Nike Flyknit or Zoom Structures. When he’s not training or competing, McIntyre’s footwork is just as impressive. Originally hooked by Space Jam and the Air Jordan 11, this sneaker enthusiast has a stacked stock that includes a wide array of makes and models.

Sneaker Story:

“From the childhood fights with my brother over who got to look through the new Eastbay magazine first, to missing the first minute of every basketball game because I was looking to see what everyone had on their feet, I’ve always had a high interest in sneakers. Once I started making my own money, and didn’t have a $100 shoe limit, I was able to get some of the shoes I wanted. Nike Basketball is definitely what got me into sneakers, but the deeper in the game and older I got, the more respect and interest I had in other brands and styles.

Today, there are so many different shoe styles and brands in which I enjoy that it makes it very difficult to choose which pair to purchase, especially while trying to pay for college at the same time. So, I buy what I like, never pay resell prices, and do the best I can to diversify my collection. There are a lot of great Jordan and Nike releases that I miss out on, but at the end of the day, I enjoy having a wide variety of styles and brands to choose from.

It’s really more than just something to put on my feet that I enjoy, it’s the whole culture and lifestyle. I have met so many people and know good people all over the country because of sneakers. #SneakLife”
