Community Collections is taken over this week by a sneaker lover who just recently started collecting. Jermaine Perkins has been into shoes for over 25 years, but never had the ability to truly collect. Sparked by a new opportunity and the first $200 Air Jordans, this enthusiast from Baltimore started compiling a full stash of sneakers. You have to respect those who enter the game at a later stage out of pure passion, and now starting to gain some steam, Perkins doesn’t plan on slowing down anytime soon.
Browse through the pages to check out Jermaine’s collection and some of his personal picks, including his Oldest Pair. Drop a line in the comment box with your feedback, and keep Nice Kicks bookmarked for everything sneakers.

Collection Summary
“My infatuation with my shoes goes back as early as my childhood, more than 25 years ago. I vividly remember my Mom buying me some Patrick Ewings for my birthday one year. When I got my first job, I was able to start really buying the shoes I wanted; mostly Air Max. I also remember buying the Reebok Questions in about four or five different colorways. As years passed, my collection consisted primarily of Jordans. It wasn’t until this year (2013) that my “collecting” took on a whole new meaning. Nothing special about my collection. No brand loyalty or trend seeking with me. I do seem to gravitate to Jordans and Lebrons, but if I like the shoe I’ll buy it. Because my collection is in its infancy, I don’t really have any rare shoes. I hope one day that will change! Rock what you like!”
