Personal Favorite: Nike Air Max CW
“It’s always so hard for me to pick out one personal favorite shoe. I wanted to exclude Jordans from this, because like a lot of people, my favorite Jordans are the Jordan XI Concord and White/Cement IV. The reason the Air Max CW is one of my personal favorites is not because of the shoe itself, or because Chris Webber was one of my favorite players, but instead, it was because of the CW logo. I still remember seeing the shoes for the first time in 95/96 and I was just in awe. The huge Air Max unit in the rear, coupled with the exposed Air Max unit in the forefoot as well! You have to remember, this was never done on a basketball shoe before., and was just seen on the AM95 shortly prior to this. Despite the technology, and awesome overall design, it was the logo that grabbed my attention. Nike has a history of awesome logos and player branding, but I was a youngin in high school, and just thought it was so clever how they incorporated the C and the W into a rim and net.”
