Community Collections shines back on the Left Coast to highlight a product of Los Angeles. Morgan Otani got hooked on a pair of patent leather Air Jordans, but has now transitioned away from the brand. With a preference for Nike Basketball silhouettes over the AJ series, this sneaker enthusiast has lived on the top shelf of the line, bringing in some of the most exclusive and sought-after makeups from KD, LeBron, and Kobe alike. One of the biggest supporters of this year’s Nike KD VI, ShoeZilla is now known for his clean pics of rare kicks.

Sneaker Story:

“I can’t really say my collection has a vibe or a theme, I just believe in buying shoes to wear them. I don’t go out of my way to buy a shoe unless I’m sure that I will wear them. I’ve been collecting shoes off and on since about 2007, but I remember before I even was into shoes like that, I owned the “DMP” Air Jordan XI and VI pack and I wore them for physical education class in 7th or 8th grade. I was just a kid who loved the shoes that I was fortunate enough to have my Mom buy me back then. Nowadays, I’m really not into Jordans since the quality and colorways that have dropped lately just don’t catch my attention, or I don’t even think they’re worth retail. I’m more into Nike basketball products, along the lines of KDs, LeBrons, Kobes, and a few Foamposites. The one thing I can say about my collection that I’m proud of is that it’s quality over quantity. I’d personally rather skip on five general releases and save my money to cop a shoe that I’ve wanted for a while or that I love the colorway.”
