Concepts expands its partnership with New Balance as the two come together to release a New Balance 1906R series dedicated to “Women and their Collections.” The series features four different colorways in neutral tones, fit for the versatile and diverse lifestyles of women in all communities.
This New Balance 1906R series shows similarities to the fan-favorite “Protection Pack” as each upper is finished with distressed overlays. In fact, early photos of the pairs leaked last year, leaving the sneaker community to believe that another “Protection Pack” was on the way.
Instead, Concepts does what it does best and goes the conceptual route, giving the sneakers a greater story, rather than just extending an already hyped collection. Concepts presented the pack through a series of women, with a focus on the objects they collect through their work and pursuits.
The campaign was put together by a team of women, featuring Christine Espinal, Djali Brown-Cepeda, and Angie Chavez, styled by Mellany Sanchez and photographed by Sirui Ma, with beauty by Karina Milan and hair by Remy Moore.
Coming in Black, Grey, Cream, and Griege, all four styles will be available in unisex sizing from size 4 to 16. Each sneaker is constructed with the 1906R’s usual mesh, suede, and leather construction. Finishing details include 1906R branding on the lateral heel, NLOCK logos on the sides, and NERGY midsoles.
The Concepts x New Balance 1906R “Women & their Collections” series drops on January 6, 2023. Each sneaker is priced at $170. To purchase, visit all Concepts shops and cncpts.com at 11am. For more sneaker news and release dates, follow @NiceKicks on Twitter.
