Using the 998 and 990 in Made in the USA fashion, the Concepts x New Balance “Varsity Weekend Pack” pulls inspiration from collegiate athletic rivalries. The 998 kicks things off with a premium suede upper and branded insoles that pay homage to bandana manufacturing and dyeing plants in Massachusetts which would see the bandanas turn deep red after a good sweat. Conversely, the 990 plays with pig-skin suede and ABZORB cushioning with varsity lettering and 3M detailing highlighting a grey and navy palette.
Launching this Saturday online and in-store at Concepts, preview each below with the 998 running $180 and the 990 going for $160.
