?Ace is the Converse of hotels?high, low and a comfortable classic. I have been wearing Chuck Taylor shoes all my life so we are very excited and honored for Converse to create this special model for Ace. It was inspired by archival shoes Converse made in the ?40s. We will wear them proudly.” – Alex Calderwood, co-founder Ace Hotels.
Since its opening in 2009, the staff at Ace Hotel New York have been wearing an exclusive, Friends & Family edition of the Chuck Taylor All Star in an olive-drab canvas makeup. Two years later, Converse and Ace have teamed up to create a new, updated version in the form of this Chuck Taylor All Star Bosey shoe. Inspired by? multiple shoes from the Converse archive, this new model contains a sneaker construction with a rugged boot detailing and design cues taken from vintage wading boots and shoes Converse created for US military basic training in the 1940s.
The Converse for Ace Hotel Chuck Taylor All Star Bosey also possesses an olive drab upper comprised of a unique waxed canvas material. It also contains padded panels and cushy foot beds for extreme comfort, along with a ridged boot toe-bumper which gives it a more sturdy, durable feel. Other complimentary features include a gum outsole, signature Bosey boot grommets (side panels) and the statement ?You Are Here,? (insole), a statement which also appears on the Ace NYC entrance rain mat.
