In large part thanks to Virgil Abloh and J.W. Anderson, Converse’s Chuck Taylor All-Star is one of the hottest sneakers in all of footwear. Great collaborations tend to have that effect on historically revered silhouettes. Often times, something old simply needs to be seen through a modern lens to restore its acclaim.
Where Anderson is concerned, his vision was a simple one. Through his Glitter Gutter collaboration, he outfitted the Chuck Taylor in two-toned uppers. The foundational yet effective design method helped revived the All-Star while clearly inspiring something within Converse. New iterations of the model are done in two-tone uppers with a protective Gore-Tex coating that overlays brown and green paneling. Tongue construction appears in blue juxtaposing the smartly color blocked design.
This Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star Gore-Tex is available now in Japan at atmos. It’s unclear when this pair will debut Stateside.
