Registration is now open for the second installment of the Converse CONS CONS Project, a series of free, community-based interactive skate and art workshops for young adults. “Filming Skate Videos” will take place in New York, Boston, Los Angeles and Toronto on October 4 and October 18.
Aimed at aspirating filmmakers, directors, and producers between the ages of 13-24, “Filming Skate Videos” will teach participants the skills of filming and editing skate video content through the use of smartphone technology with the help of famed underground skate director, Josh Stewart in New York; worldwide skateboarders and documentary filmmakers, Mike Gilbert and Ewan Bowman in Los Angeles and Boston; and acclaimed filmmakers, Nick Genova and Rob Lane in Toronto. Renowned professional skaters – as well as CONS Skate Team members and Friends of CONS alike – such as Steve Brandi, Eli Reed, Kevin Coakley, Tom Remilard, Kenny Anderson, and Don “Nuge” Nguyen will also be on-hand to work with directors and filmmakers in each city to offer a glimpse into the ever-evolving skate film industry.
