Kenny Anderson doesn?t need a whole lot of flash in his shoe; his skating stands alone. It?s with this in mind that he and the staff at CONS designed the new KA-One, his first signature since re-signing with the Converse skateboarding team.
Much of the reason Anderson chose to come back to Converse following a three-year deal in the late nineties was the heritage of the Star Chevron brand. It comes as no surprise then that he chose to revive a cup sole from the classic Trainer Ox, a 1970s runner, rather than opt for a vulcanized unit. Flexibility and board feel were top priorities and it shows in the design, done in the simple but catchy fashion with which Converse is more than familiar.
For the starting lineup, grey suede/black leather and red suede/mesh with white leather colorways will land in stores soon. A brown and gum Premium model following shortly thereafter this holiday season. Expect this impressive new sig to show up shortly.
