Back in ’50s and ’60s, just about every player in the NBA laced up the Converse Chuck Taylor. It was the shoe of choice for generations, as synonymous with basketball during that time as afros in the ’70s. Julius “Dr. J” Erving owned one of the meanest afros. He, however, played in the Converse Pro Leather. Yet all his idols who won scoring titles and rings did so in the Chuck.

“I know in my first look at basketball on TV, I saw my favorite players wearing Chuck Taylors. That was the shoe to get,” Erving reminisced. And now that Converse, a subsidiary of Nike, is back in bed with the NBA, they’re releasing an expansive collection with over 250 styles to honor their renewed partnership with the league.

The Converse x NBA Collection represents all 30 NBA teams through three distinct NBA Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars: Gameday, Legend, and Franchise. The offering will also feature an apparel range that highlights a bomber jacket, coaches jacket, long sleeve tee, and joggers.

Expect the new collection on September 29 at Converse.
