Converse Skateboarding is all set up to start the annual Coastal Carnage contest in Huntington Beach today, amid a sea (literally) of some of the best surfers in the world. The Nike US Open of Surfing began playing host to this unique contest years ago with the intention of creating a contest rivaled by none other. Pros and amateurs will take to the creative bowl set up right on the beach and battle it out for a total prize purse of $75,000. To mark the occasion, Converse has put together the above video, with more planned to follow, chronicling the history of contest skating.
