First introduced in 2016, the Air Jordan 1 “Sager Vision” PE honors the life and legacy of sports reporter Craig Sager. The NBA broadcaster battled with Leukemia for two years before passing in December of 2016.
In addition to his work as a journalist, Sager was widely loved for his personal style as he was regularly spotted in vibrant suits with kitschy prints. His iconic sports coats inspired the upper of the Air Jordan 1 “Sager Vision” PE as the sneaker has mismatched panels of plaid, tartan, houndstooth, and pinstripes.
The various patterns complement each other with a carefully crafted colorway anchored in Red, Yellow, Blue, Black, and White. While the mismatched panels mirror each other on each sneaker, the midsoles take the opportunity to separate with one sneaker finished in Blue, and the other sneaker complete with Yellow.
These PEs are extremely special as it’s believed that there are only two pairs in existence, with DJ Khaled owning one of them. The Grammy Award-winning producer and Jordan fantic shared the sneaker on his Instagram with the caption #SAGERVISION, a motif which can also be seen on the sneaker’s icy outsoles.
