If there’s one brand that knows color, it’s Crayola. And if there’s one brand that’s mastered transplanting those colors onto its simple silhouettes, it’s Vans. The two have paired up for this collection, which we’re seeing now for the first time. What look to be splatters and speckles are actually a result of the space left “uncolored” by crayons. The Authentic, Sk8 Hi and Slip-On have all been given this treatment. The Slip-On uses the classic checkerboard pattern with multiple colors, while most of the Authentics use solid colors. The stripe at the top of the vulcanized sole has been given the same Crayola hand drawn approach. The lace tips are also designed with the stripes straight off of the crayon wrappers. |
