Where has customizing taken you so far?
Jake Ferrato: I’ve got to meet some cool people through it. It let me dodge a summer job this past summer so that was cool. I’m more worried about where it’s gonna go though.
Where are you hoping it leads?
Jake Ferrato: To some sort of success. I’d be more specific, but right now I really don’t know where I want to go with it. I’m still a full-time student, so for the time being I’m just going wherever the wind takes me with it.
What place do customs hold in the sneaker culture?
Jake Ferrato: They’re one of the only things in the sneaker culture that is actually about individuality in my opinion.
What advice would you give someone interested in customizing?
Jake Ferrato: Do it. And don’t waste your time asking all the more established customizers how to do it before you start. Just go for it. You gotta start, and then ask for help with specific problems as they arise.
