NBA players’ sneakers will be even more colorful and expressive next season as the league has reportedly lifted restrictions on what colors players are allowed to wear. Now that they able to be even more expressive than before, players like Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo are looking forward to wearing whatever colors they want on their feet.
Talking with the Undefeated’s Aaron Dodson, Lillard noted that he is definitely going to take advantage of the reported footwear restrictions being lifted.
“I’m gonna definitely take advantage of that,” Lillard said. “Even though I get a little uncomfortable when the colors get too crazy and go away from the color of the uniform I’m wearing. But I guess I’m gonna have to play with it a little more.”
Like Lillard, Antetokounmpo is looking forward to wearing colorful shoes on the court next season. Unlike Lillard, Antetokounmpo plans on going “crazy” by wearing whatever color of sneakers he wants, when he wants.
“I’m going crazy,” Antetokounmpo said. “I can wear whatever color I want, whenever I want. Before, it seemed like we could just wear white and black. But now, I can wear yellow … I can wear sky blue … whatever pops in my head.”
