In the midst of its 30th anniversary celebration — which has already brought forth numerous special edition releases like the “Black Cement” with Nike Air – the Air Jordan 3 continues to impress with collegiate PEs that rival just about any retail release. Following a glimpse at the “UNC” pair just yesterday, today to take a detailed look at the Georgetown Hoyas pair.
The beast from the Big East have, in one way or another, upheld an affinity for Jordans over a lengthy period. We all remember Allen Iverson wearing “Concord” 11s during his Hoyas tenure under John Thompson. And, in more recent years, the entire team wearing an exclusive iteration of the Air Jordan XXX2. This limited edition Air Jordan 3 “Georgetown” PE wasn’t one seen on-court yet it certainly registered as one that many hoped to obtain. However, given reports that only 50 some odd pairs were produced, only friends of the program were privy to this super scaled drop.
Coated largely in a smokey grey with navy blue and white accents, the Hoyas “G” appears front and center at the tongue while “Hoyas” and “Basketball” are positioned behind each tongue. Elephant print of course lines the toe and heel while a clean white midsole caps this signature Hoyas execution.
There is no indication that this pair will release. They’re simply here for your viewing pleasure.
