We are about six months away from the release of the Air Jordan 11 72-10, but is it too early to speculate what is the inspiration for the forthcoming retro Jordan 11 holiday release?
Jordan Brand sampled the Air Jordan 11 in all black with a clear sole and a red Jumpman, but we have heard rumors that the Air Jordan 11 72-10 has a leather upper unlike the samples we have seen that sported a ballistic mesh.
Air Jordan 11 OG SampleIt is purely speculation at this point whether or not this pair inspired the Air Jordan 11 72-10, but if the 72-10 Air Jordan 11s do in fact come with leather uppers in place of ballistic mesh, it is safe to say that these lent a hand in the inspiration.
The Air Jordan 11 was sampled various ways with a black upper with a red Jumpman including this variation that is said to be very early on in the process without a carbon fiber plate and a solid rubber outsole.
Early Air Jordan 11 OG SampleLastly, we have seen some Warren Sapp PEs and other samples with ballistic mesh which were cooked up in the early part of the 2000s.

While we have yet to see boxes of the Air Jordan 11 “72-10” with the retail price stickers attached, we have read numerous places online that the shoes will be going up a tad to $220. If this is the case, the extra price would lend itself for remastered materials including a soft leather upper.
