Wooden Nike shoes? The Dutch may be in luck. With the brand in Beaverton’s constant chase of the latest in athletic performance footwear and apparel technology, it is surprising to see the Swoosh on a silhouette that includes wood paneling. Such is the case with the latest Ora-Ïto concept design, which draws from industrial designers Charles and Ray Eames. This seen shoe is inspired by the duo’s most notable design, the Eames Lounge 670 armchair. Taking the piece of intricate architecture and incorporating it into a shoe turns out this wooden walker, which includes a GORE-TEX slipper for comfort and a rubber outsole for traction. Tell us your first reaction to this unconventional design in the comment box below, and keep streaming Nice Kicks for any future developments.
