Following in the footsteps of his Hall of Fame peers, Hakeem Olajuwon is returning to the sneaker game with his original endorser, Etonic. This partnership will see the relaunch of many heritage models from both the basketball and running categories, namely the release of Olajuwon’s Akeem the Dream signature sneaker.
“When I became the Etonic Brand Ambassador during my rookie year, Etonic was fresh and new in the basketball arena. It’s been my ambition to continue my brand in the footwear and apparel industry. From product development to testing on the court is creatively satisfying. Teaming back up with Etonic is a natural progression for me. I’m thrilled about this new venture to reintroduce the retro Etonic Dream collection, as well as to develop and launch Brand Dream. The Dream Team behind this undertaking is a seasoned group of exceptional individuals and entrepreneurs. I respect Bruce Weisfeld’s willingness to invest in assembling the best team. I look forward to growing this revived union,” says Olajuwon.
Aside from Olajuwon, PENSOLE’s own D’Wayne Edwards will also be on board. Etonic will relaunch the Akeem the Dream at select sneaker boutiques, including Nice Kicks in Austin, TX, this June. Stay tuned for more updates on the upcoming Etonic relaunch.
